BJP Government had grabbed power in Goa in 2012 promising people to cap the petrol prices at Rs.60 per litre. Today, the prices have touched almost a hundred pointed Digambar Kamat.
He was addressing the large number of Congress Functionaries who had assembled at the historic Lohia Maidan to protest against the rising fuel and other essential commodities prices. GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Navelim MLA Luzinho Faleiro, Ex- Nuvem MLA Alex Sequeira, Congress Vice President Altino Gomes, South Goa District Congress President Joe Dias, Margao Block Congress President Gopal Naik, Vice Chairperson of MMC Dipali Sawal and other Congress Functionaries participated in the Cycle Rally after paying tributes at the Martyrs Memorial and Statue of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia. The Cycle Rally concluded at the South Goa Collectorate Building.

Today’s Cycle Rally was the third protest held by the Congress Party in Goa as part of its nationwide campaign against the Modi Government. Earlier, Mahila and Youth Congress had a Protest March in Panaji beating drums condemning the price hike on 8th July.
