“The debate between power ministers of Delhi AAP government and Goa BJP government is a big drama to fool the people of Goa.” said Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar. He was responding to the media persons on a question on this debate, after meeting the flood-affected families at Daddem-Sanvordem on Saturday along with the Leader of Opposition Digamber Kamat and Youth Congress leaders.
Speaking further he said that the AAP and BJP party are the family members of Sangh Parivar and they are trying to divert from the main core issues which the Goans are facing currently. “No Goans are interested in their power tariff debate as nobody has asked for it. It’s clear match-fixing between them to keep AAP in the news. Goans wants debate on issues concerning them like three destructive linear projects of double-tracking of the railway line, Mollem power, road widening projects, destruction of forest, coal issues, unemployment, rising prices and Coastal Zone Management, Mhadei River, finished tourism, resumption of legal mining, the revival of the economy, Corruption, the financial crisis of the state, Covid mismanagement etc but they do not want to debate these issues and instead of creating drama to divert and misled the people.” said Chodankar and warned BJP not to take people for granted as Goans are smart and wise enough to understand it’s old tactics.
Assuring to give 70 to 80 percent tickets to new and young faces for the forthcoming Assembly election he said after coming to power they will give water and electricity at the rate which was fixed in 2012 which we had announced in our 2017 manifesto. This person will benefit more than the proposed 300 free units of proposed by the Sangh Parivar team.
Speaking on the flooding situation, Chodankar demanded an inquiry to find out what led to such a flood in many places within a few hours. “Government has undertaken various environmentally destructive projects without studying its environmental impact. In Sanvordem they may have removed mud after digging and dumped it unorganized way by blocking the free flow of water and that could be one of the reasons for flooding as the work of double-tracking is going on in the area.” said Chodankar and asked the government to give immediate relief to the affected people and follow the formalities later.
Criticizing the government for not addressing the concerns of pandemic and flood victims, Chodankar said instead of visiting the affected families, BJP is celebrating with their national party president. “People would have appreciated them if they would have visited the affected families along with their president and helped them but they are in utsav ( celebration mode ) mood of celebration with their president who is in Goa.” complained Girish.
