The National Secretary of Indian Youth Congress and Goa Incharge Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said that for the welfare of people there is a need for good democracy and governance, which can not be expected under the rule of BJP. He appealed to all the youths to work towards restoring democracy in Goa.
Akhilesh Yadav was addressing members from Aldona Youth Congress. Congress Media in charge Amarnath Panjikar, Aldona Block president Ashwin D’Sousa, North District Youth Congress President Vivek D’ Silva, North District Secretary Yash Kochrekar, St.Andre Youth President Saish Aroskar, newly appointed Aldona Youth Congress President Vithal Arondekar and others were present on the occasion.
Yadav said that BJP is so power-hungry that it formed a Government from the backdoor. ” BJP is teaching lessons of defections to the youths, hence they forced Congress MLAs to defect and join them. This is how BJP has gone against the wishes of Goans.” He said.
Goans should teach a lesson to the BJP and should send them home during the forthcoming assembly election. “Otherwise power hungry BJP will go on suppressing the voice of people, Akhilesh Yadav said.
Adv. Varad Mardolkar said that BJP has failed on all aspects of giving good governance and has been pushing the State in debt. “BJP is borrowing loans every passing week and using the money to loot the state.” He said.
Amarnath Panjikar while addressing the youths stated that youths should work towards upholding the democratic rights of people. BJP has murdered the democracy of Goa by manipulations, now we need to steer it and restore it. Youth Congress leader Mahabaleshwar Toraskar proposed a vote of thanks.
The meeting was attended by a large number of youths who also expressed their views on building a strong organisation of Youth Congress in Goa.
